sowing

MWM 12/2/21

Not a lot is revealed about the lady called Jecholiah, her Name Means “Is powerful”  We also know that her “son did that which was right in the sight of God,” and that “he prospered so long as he sought the Lord”—a sure evidence of her good influence over her child.

Like many of the women of the bible who are not recorded as saying much they say a lot by the influence they had on others, particularly on their children. Of course this was due to their generation and culture.

Natural influence requires persuasion or pressure by others.

Spiritual influence involves not just your words or deeds but the power of the Holy Spirit watering the seed you have sown into a person and bringing that seed to grow and bear fruit.

When Jecholiah had her Sons, Azariah, or Uzziah sat at her feet, she sowed the Word of God into their young lives and then the boys would go to play and fight with each other, as little boys do.

The spiritual fruit came later in their lives when then they did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

Don’t underestimate the power of Holy Spirit influence upon others as a result of the seed you have sown, it may take years to bear fruit in their lives, but remember God is faithful to His Word and Promises and His Word does not return void/fruitless/empty.

Self Challenge

1.     Who is the Holy Spirit influencing through you?

2.     Can you testify to the seed you have sown bearing fruit?

Big Blessings
